Can I set up an appointment to have a boarded surgeon spay / neuter my pet?
Typically the surgeons at MVRS only work on patients requiring advanced soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. Preventative medical care and elective procedures such as spays and neuters are referred to your primary veterinarian. Routine procedures are occasionally performed at MVRS when these patients require specialized monitoring pre and post operatively (high risk patients).
Evaluating Orthopedic Injuries
If you think your pet has an orthopedic injury, scheduling a consult appointment with a board-certified surgeon at MVRS is the first step in diagnosing and treating the injury. During the initial consult the surgical specialist will perform a thorough orthopedic examination, take appropriate digital x-rays to assess the problem and discuss the therapeutic options available for your pet. Specific surgical procedures will be scheduled at a later date. While waiting to see the surgeon, we recommend restricting activity and speaking with your regular veterinarian about pain management to help keep your pet comfortable.
